Dear friends,
welcome to my blog :-)
As you have probably heard, I am starting my Master studies in Copenhagen on September 1st. As it has been 16 (!) years since I left Denmark, I have decided to write a little blog about my impressions and experiences.
After just very few days in Copenhagen, I have noticed the following:
-Damn many cyclists!
A lot wear a helmet! I can't remember ever having seen that in Germany, and then they lift their hand to indicate that they are going to stop. Never seen that either!?
-Killerprices!
A "cheap" Chai Latte costs 4,80€ and crossing the bridge "Storebæltsbroen" costs 30€, argh!
-Killerrain!
It more felt like a hurricane for me. And I was on the bike...
It is not as if I didn't know these things before, but until now I have just ignored them as I was only in Denmark for visit. Now that I am moving there, it scares the hell out of me! Haha.
A few days ago (it was raining heavily, what a surprise) I met with three new fellow students in a café. One person was from Denmark and wore shorts and t-shirt. The rest of us were "foreigners" and wore layers of clothes. I wonder if I will ever get back to being so Danish, that I can also wear so little in so bad weather...
I hope, that you will join me on my way to becoming a real Dane again :-)
Best,
Lee Ann
